About
I do not remember whether I started to draw before or after I learned to talk, but it was only a matter of time before my visual language ability overtook my verbal. Truly, art is my main passion and purpose in life, and I will be happy if it is the last thing I ever do. Still, I have far more to say than I have time for. New images and visions appear in my mind on a daily basis. When I am waking up, when I have a moment of nostalgia, when I take a walk and notice some nook or element of the world around. I wish to relay all those images and their accompanying feelings to other people, to communicate all of it. But it takes time to get it right. Even though I mostly work digitally, which I find to be faster, I can still easily spend weeks or months on some of my paintings.
For years I have worked as an artist in the entertainment industry but have never given much thought to selling my personal works. People often approached me wanting to buy a print of my work and usually I would try to arrange something, but I have never organized any official space to facilitate such transactions. Until now.
I want people to have physical copies of my art in their home, to look at, contemplate, and enjoy - for me that's what art is for. I have invested time into making prints that I am happy with, and at the moment I do not want a middleman, I want every print to go directly from me - the artist to you - the customer. That is why I print everything myself, so when you order a print from me, you can be certain that I personally held that print in my hands and made sure it looks and feels good, before signing it and sending it to you.
Currently I am offering a small variety. More prints will become available with time, but if there is some art of mine in particular you want printed, feel free to reach out to me. Not everything I do can be sold, such as any work where someone else owns the copyright, but check anyway.
Thank you,
Gene
A few questions you might have:
Q: What paper do you use?
A: I have tried a variety of papers with different feels and textures, and I settled on Canson Infinity Rag Photographique 210 g/ms. It is archival, has a nice silky feel, and has the best gamut of any paper I have tried.
Q: What printer do you use?
A: Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-300
Q: Are there any traditional medium artworks available for purchase?
A: Not at the moment. Even though I still do an occasional study in oils, most of my traditional works are pre 2000s, have too much sentimental value and are not for sale. I am however working a series of oil paintings that will be for sale, but they will not be ready for at least another year.
Q: Do you do commissions?
A: I generally avoid commissions, mainly due to personal time constraints.
Q: Do you use AI to create your art?
A: No. But I do want to explore AI as a tool for art at some point.
